My Lockdown Routine

Hi. Today I’m going to talk about my lockdown routine.

In weekdays my parents go to work so I stay with my sister at home. But she is getting ready for universty at this year, she is generally studying in her room so I can say that I’m alone most of the time. I’m trying to have some quality time when I’m alone instead of just wasting my time. I guess I’m not successful but still im trying.

I wake up at 7.30 am everyday. At first weeks of the quarantine I was waking up at 5.30 or 6.00 am and I was going to bed earlier but at these days I started to study at late hours so I can’t wake up that early.

I always change my pajamas as soon as possible (I think that is really important. Since we are at home we are getting distracted so easily and I think its good to get ready like we are going out because its helpful to be in the right mood in that quarantine days. Besides that if its possible i recommend you to not study in your bed or in a place for do something instead of studying. According to an article that I read a few months ago seperating the places for diffrent works is really helpful to concentrate. I mean you mustn’t study at your bed or you mustn’t eat something at your desk. Because your brain knows your bed as a place to sleep so when you are in your bed even if it’s not comfortable you want to sleep or when you study at your dinning table your brain gets confused and couldn’t concantreate at studying) After I change my pajamas  I wash my face, brush my teeth and I make myself a coffee.

In weekdays I study for an hour before my online lessons and after a little break time my lessons start. After my lessons(at 1 pm) I have my breakfast. I know its a little bit late for a breakfast but my eating habit is kinda different. I’m not going to talk about my eating habits right now, this is not the topic of this blog.(maybe I can talk about it in a different blog or in a video) Now I just can say quarantine helped me a lot about that because I can eat anything that I want in anytime.

At three pm I do my homeworks. I study until my parents come home from work(they gennerally come home at six pm) I spend some of my time with them. After that I prepare something light to eat for myself and I eat it while im watching somethings on youtube(sometimes ı watch somethings on netflix too but rarely)

I don’t have an exact routine for that part of the day. I just do what I want for a few hours. Sometimes I play a game sometimes I read a book.

At 11 pm I start studying again. I study mostly verbal lesson in that times, so I wrote almost all of my blog posts in the midnights. I don’t know why but I really like studying at nights. While we are going to school it’s almost impossible to study in that hours for me but since my shcool is online I don’t have to wake up too early so I can study at nights. After studying for about two hours I sleep.

I don’t have a routine for weekends. At saturdays I help my mom with the chores and I study for 4-5 hours. At sundays I go in for a trial exam which is last for two hours biweekly. And at the weeks that I don’t have an exam I just study two hours for all day. So Sundays are my rest days. I just do what I want at Sundays.

That is all I can say about my routine.

The positive side of the quarantine for me is that I can try different daily routines so I can choose the best one for me. And as a homebody my life didn’t change a lot. Of course I miss my friends, I miss going out but still it's not a big deal. Im ok with staying at home. So I guess quarantine is easier for me than most of you.

This was a long text so I’m really thankful to you if you have read this far. See you in the next blog.:))

  1. Elaborately written, neatly arranged. I really enjoyed reading it, Cemre. I've just noticed that it is great to see the same phenomenon (lockdown in this case) from the eyes of different people. It is even better if they are in our lives. Thanks for sharing.
